How often should my dog attend daycare?
We recommend bringing your dog to daycare as often as possible to establish a consistent routine. Most dogs attend 2-4 times a week, but some visit 5 days a week or more! Regular daycare sessions provide your dog with exercise, socialization, and mental stimulation, all of which contribute to their overall well-being. Plus, the consistent schedule helps your dog form bonds with other dogs and our staff, creating a fun and predictable experience they’ll love.
What is a dog daycare evaluation?
Every dog attending daycare at K9 Resorts undergoes an evaluation on their first visit. This process allows our trained staff to assess your dog’s temperament and compatibility with our daycare groups. We introduce your dog to the daycare environment gradually, ensuring their comfort and safety. Evaluations typically last at least three hours, giving your dog time to adjust and interact with other dogs in a controlled setting.
How do I know if my dog enjoys daycare?
Dogs who love daycare usually come home happy, tired, and eager to return! After an adjustment period of 1-2 visits, most dogs are excited to arrive at our facility, often pulling their owners toward the door with wagging tails. Many owners report their dogs recognize the word “daycare” and can’t contain their excitement when it’s mentioned. Rest assured, if your dog is approved for daycare, they’ll have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Do you separate dogs by size?
Yes, we divide our daycare groups based on size and temperament. Dogs over 30 pounds are placed in our large playgroup, while dogs under 30 pounds join our small playgroup. This ensures every dog feels comfortable and secure while playing.
What vaccines are required for daycare?
We require the following up-to-date vaccinations for all daycare participants:
- Rabies
- Distemper/Parvo
- Bordetella (Intranasal preferred)
- Canine Influenza (Bivalent version recommended)
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before your reservation are penalty-free. Within 72 hours, a full daycare charge will apply, or one day will be deducted from your package.
